Custom Asymmetrical Black Upholstered Hotel Lounge Sofa with Marble Base
Two seats set on different lines, a sweeping curved shell and a dark marble base: this lounge sofa is developed to order for luxury hotel suites, boutique lounges and private villas where furniture has to hold its own against the architecture.
Rather than a straight-front loveseat, the two upholstered seating areas are arranged with a slight offset, so the sofa reads as a composition. Rounded front edges soften the geometry, while substantial square-ended supports bring structure to the outline. A curved, dark-textured surround wraps around the seating instead of stopping at a flat back panel, and two loose back cushions sit against the more defined exterior surfaces. Because the sides and rear are treated as visible faces, the piece works as a freestanding element — beside a large window, within a dedicated sitting area, or as part of a planned furniture grouping. The specified marble base sets hard stone against generous black fabric, a contrast that becomes more interesting the closer the room is examined: marble, wood, textured surfaces and upholstery may all read as black in a rendering, but their grain and sheen differ in a finished interior. PALMWELL develops project versions of this design, coordinating stone, shell finish, upholstery and cushioning with the wider furniture package.
Product Views
The sofa from the front, in a suite interior, and in three details, so the offset seats, the curved shell and the material contrasts can be read as one design.

Key Highlights
Seats on Two Different Lines
The two upholstered seats are deliberately offset, so the sofa reads as a composition rather than a straight-front two-seater. The offset can be reviewed against the suite's floor plan without losing the silhouette.
A Curved Shell, Not a Back Panel
The dark textured surround sweeps around the seating instead of ending at a flat back. A curved surface needs a moulded or framed construction, which is why this detail is settled in engineering review rather than treated as decoration.
Marble Against Soft Upholstery
The specified marble base and the square end supports put hard, dark surfaces next to generous black fabric. Stone, wood and fabric can all look black in a rendering; their grain and sheen are what separate them in a finished room.
Finished for Freestanding Placement
Sides and rear are designed as visible faces, so the sofa can float in a sitting area or stand beside a window without an unattractive back that has to be hidden against a wall.
Where the Shape Comes From
Four close views that explain the construction: soft seats held inside a hard shell, and a base that sets stone against fabric.

Materials & Craftsmanship
- Marble base
- Specified as the base for this design. The stone type, the exact areas where marble is used, edge detailing and the connection to the frame are confirmed through project drawings and approved samples rather than assumed from photographs.
- Curved dark-textured exterior
- A specification item in its own right, separate from the marble base. The surround can be developed in a moulded or panelled construction, and its material, finish and level of sheen are approved against the project material board before production.
- Black fabric upholstery
- Deep black to charcoal fabric with a fine matte weave, used for two offset seat cushions and two loose back pillows. Fibre composition, abrasion performance, cleaning requirements and any fire performance standard are confirmed per project.
- End supports and frame
- Substantial square-ended supports with a visible wood-grain appearance. Whether they are solid timber, veneered or another specified finish is settled during engineering review, together with the tolerances where upholstery meets the shell.

Customization Options (OEM / ODM)
Tailored Dimensions and Seating Layout
Overall width, depth, seat height and the offset between the two seats are reviewed against the suite's floor plan, so the design fits a particular seating area while keeping its recognizable silhouette.
Material and Finish Development
Stone selection, the material and finish of the curved surround, the appearance of the end supports and the upholstery are developed together, with approved finish samples as the reference for how they relate.
Prototype and Model Room Review
For a design with curved surfaces and mixed materials, an approved sample is part of the development work. Seating comfort, proportions, finish appearance and the relationship to surrounding furniture can be assessed before the wider programme.
Coordinated Furniture Packages
The sofa is usually one item in a suite package that also includes beds, headboards, bedside tables, coffee tables, consoles and armchairs. Coordinating those finishes is what makes a room read as one design.
Quality & Service
Engineering Review
Curved shells, offset seating and stone components all need construction details that can be repeated across a project. PALMWELL reviews these points before manufacturing drawings are finalised.
Sample and Model Room Approval
Upholstery alignment, cushion dimensions, finish matching and structural assembly are confirmed on the approved sample, which then becomes the reference for production.
Production and Pre-Shipment Inspection
Production is checked against approved drawings and finish references, with particular attention to the curved exterior profile and the protection of exposed surfaces during packing.
Two Manufacturing Bases
Manufacturing in China and Vietnam across 500,000 sq ft of production space, backed by 30 years of combined experience, with packing and shipment coordination for procurement teams.
FAQ
Can this asymmetrical hotel sofa be customized for different suite layouts?
Yes. Dimensions, seating proportions, upholstery and finish requirements can be reviewed against the hotel's floor plan and design brief, and proposed changes are evaluated during project development.
Where exactly is the marble used on this sofa?
The marble base is a project specification item. The photographs show a dark textured surround and wood-grain supports, so the stone type, the exact areas where marble is used and its finish are confirmed on drawings before quotation rather than assumed from the images.
Can PALMWELL manufacture the other furniture for the same hotel project?
Yes. PALMWELL supports multi-category custom hotel furniture manufacturing, including guestroom casegoods, upholstered seating, tables and project-specific pieces, and coordinates designs and finishes across the wider FF&E package.
What information is needed to request a custom quotation?
Reference images or furniture drawings, intended application, approximate dimensions, required quantity, material and finish preferences, project location and target schedule. PALMWELL will review the information and discuss the appropriate engineering, sampling and manufacturing approach.
